Changing Canada's History

If I were to rewrite Canadian history I would make sure residential schools were never made or that they never happened. More than 150,000 native kids were throw in this harsh system. Some of the kids didn’t come home alive. Thousands were separated from their families. They were mentally, physically, and sexualy abused. Imagine how the families would feel when they learned what their kids went through. Of course they didn’t want to send their kids back but when the people came back in the fall, the kids had no choice but to go back. The next piece of canadian history i would change kind of ties in with being abused. Well not really abuse but more like discrimination. It is about the ban on black immigrants. The assumption was that the African-Americans could never meet the strict regulation on health by the government. Many immigrants were not allowed in Canada. The last thing that I would change would be the expulsion of Japanese Canadians. More than 25,000 Japanese Canadians were told to leave their homes, it was the beginning of a process of confinement in camps, they were humiliated and betrayed, 4000 Japanese opted to leave Canada under the repatriation scheme. Japanese Canadians that were kept in internment camps had their property taken and auctioned off to pay for their internment, they were the only race of people who were forced to pay for their own internment. Those are only some of the things I would change if I could.
